First Ever, student protest In Kogi state University Over Carry Over and I.T issues

When we feel we know our right then we have all the God given right to stand up for our rights

The national association of science students (nass) of Kogi state university anyigba of the faculty of natural science began
Their protest yesterday (1st DEC 2014) at about 11:48am in the faculty. What led to the protest was the so called law that has been lingering in the faculty for years and it has deprived a lot of 300 & 400 Level students from graduating with their mates.

The protest which featured many students including the SUG president, NASS president and so many comrades in school was really captivating and made a lot of impact.

The cause of the protest was the issue of one carryover no I.T which has stopped so many students from going for industrial trianing (I.T) and graduating with their mates. The protest was indeed a peaceful & forceful that all the roads & junctions in school were blocked which prevented auto mobile to go in or come out. Some of the protesters also went to the auditorium to check if the VC is there, as some visitor from different universities was having a meeting there.

The protesters were shouting and yelling words like "No one carry over no I.T" some of the students were also saying "Omada must go"
Dr j. Omada is the faculty dean.

Natural science happens to be the only faculty in KSU suffering from this. Even friends from other faculty joined them to protest.
They were later called back to their faculty at about 2:13 pm after moving forcefully into the senate building and  were told some good news which is: A student with a carry over can now go for I.T but the carry over should not be more than 3. That is to say student with more than 3 carry over will not go for I.T in the faculty of Natural sciences.

I guess that calm everything and that may also put an end to further protest if the administrator keep to their word.
