BREAKING: Dino Melaye attacked in Kogi, 3 killed

Senator Dino Melaye who is representing Kogi West is allegedly under attack as some unknown gunmen surprised him in Lokoja, the state capital.
According to Tribune Online, the senator was attacked on Monday, June 12, in front of the Kogi state polytechnic.

It was reported that Melaye had stopped in front of the institution to address his supporters due to the current political crises surrounding his senatorship.
According to report, the gunmen emerged from the NATACO end of the road and started firing which resulted in the death of about 3 persons.
The attack lasted for 30 minutes resulting in serious traffic along Lokoja-Abuja highway.
In a series of tweets, Melaye also confirmed the attack saying his vehicle was shot at.





Meanwhile, the Senator reacted to steps being taken by his constituents to recall him.
Melaye, in a series of tweets accused the state governor, Yahaya Bello of sponsoring his recall plans.
The tweets read: “Yahaya Bello: on recall of Dino Melaye, he is shooting the moon and boxing the air.
“Spending over one billion naira tax payers money on an unproductive venture when salaries and pensions have not been paid is wicked.
“I will continue to defend the poor and defenseless masses of kogi state."
