Relationship Talk - "How do I approach her? She's my senior in the army"

 

Hi Raj,

I am Ishaq from Nigerian Army, there's this girl am finding very difficult to express my feelings for but anytime I see her my heart swings like a pendulum. I mean my heart bleeds/beats.

I have this strong feeling that I should let her go but it freaks my head that I don't know how to start.

The worst part of it is; she's my senior in military job and she's serving in the same unit (office) with me.

I don't know what to do, am dying emotionally.

Thanks for reaching out to me on this delicate issue, I hope you get the help you seek from this little advice of mine.

Approaching a senior officer who is female for a relationship may sound improper in terms of ranking as you stated in your letter.

How about you try to be her friend first. Let your conversation be based on friendship first and nothing more.

She a woman with emotions and feelings, create a healthy relationship where both of you can laugh without feeling awkward with each other but don't step into the friendzone. Let her know you wish for something more afterwards.

Treat her like a woman not a senior army official and she'll see you as a man and not a junior officer.
