The Kogi State Government and the Representatives of ASUU along with SUG executives just emerged from a closed door meeting. Insights gotten from the Vice President of the Union, Comrade Anthony Edogbo suggests stalemate in resolution.
He further disclosed that the protest yielded positive results as the State Government tabled another proposal to ASUU, which one of the ASUU representatives announced that ASUU is to hold a Congress tomorrow to deliberate on what the State Government have put before them.
He also revealed that SUG' position is that of "No Call Off of strike No Rest". He hinted that a window of 24 hours has been given to the warring parties to resolve their conflict or SUG officials and students would storm the capital city of Lokoja tomorrow evening with a massive lockdown.
He appreciated all students for turning out massively for the protest, encouraging them to keep the struggle in high tempo. He also extended many thanks from SUG-kSU and NANs to various media houses who promoted the protest online.
As at the time for filing this report, students are gradually opening the barricaded link roads to traffic while giving Kogi State and ASUU a window period to resolve the industrial action.
