This is due to the unusual sacrificed made by the Kogi Governor for the sake of Students of Kogi State owned tertiary institutions who has been sitting at home for the past 3 months.
The Governor made this known at the Kogi State stakeholders meeting that took place this evening in Government House Lokoja, during the public presentation of the Report Of Kogi State Staff Screening and Verification Exercise.
The Governor Stated that for the sake of our students who has been sitting at home, he considered it necessary to temper justice with mercy just as the labour leaders pleaded, the Governor immediately granted all the demands of the ASSU and the most contentious one is the issue of waiver of #290millions to the ASSU which ordinarily should have been tax deduction from the lectures,
this is quite humane from the side of the Governor for the ASSU ,just for the sake of our students who has been sitting at home due to the unhealthy demands by the State Academic Staff Union.
As a matter of fact in trade dispute or in the collective bargaining table, compromise is always expected from both parties ,which has been widely posited that; he that come to equity, must come with a clean hand but today the digital Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello for the sake of Kogi State students who has been sitting at home, as such he did the unimaginable thing by defying that assertion as he granted all the demands of ASSU, which could be best described as an attributes of a wisest leader with no boundaries in the servicing of his people.
Point to note : despite the fact that these academic staff union has been on strike,
; did you know that Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello has been paying them their monthly salary without invoking some of the term of Industrial Dispute of No Work, No Pay?
Just for the sake of our students who are sitting at home to return back to school quickly but
this same lecturers wasn't it humane enough to reopen our schools?

Hope this information is authentic.
