Former vice-president and presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, who has of recent been inundated with allegations of corruption, asked anyone with evidence of corruption against him to come forward with it.
He wrote: “As widely reported in the press, anyone who has evidence of corruption against me should please come forward. #TheAtikuChallenge.”
A Twitter user, Jamaiyi Ibieneye, turned up with what can only be described as a power move, with pages of a document from the United States Senate.
Sir, Ibieneye wrote, this document can explain why you avoid the US.
The document is titled: Keeping Foreign Corruption out of the United States: Four Case Histories.
The document details the allegations of corruption the United States has against the former vice-president.
It alleges that Atiku, through his fourth wife Jennifer Douglas Abubakar, funneled over $40 million into the United States, including at least $1.7 million in bribe payments from Siemens AG.
