The Students Union Government's (SUG) president of Kogi State University, Ayingba. Phillips Omepa have vowed to lead a statewide protest against the strike action affecting the institution.

His vow came in cognizance of an ultimatum he issued to both the state government and the striking lecturers to reach an agreement within the stipulated period.

He gave up until the 31st of march,2017 for an amicable resolution to end the strike or a consequential protest will follow, which will ground the economic activities in the state capital. In his words "If nothing happens after their screening ends on 31st march... I will lead a protest by April 1st in natacco... lokoja"

As it is now, two protest has been declared as a result of the ongoing statewide strike in tertiary institutions in the state after the SUG of Kogi State College of Education declared Monday 20th march as a protest day to press home their demand for an end to the ongoing strike.

In a bid to that, The SUG president of COE Ankpa is making plans and arrangements already for a peaceful protest slated on 20th March. He has taken all the legal steps to hold the protest and thereby calling other institutions in Kogi state that is affected to join the protest.
