letter from the kogi state university SUG President

A message to all Ksu students on the
Asuu strike. SUG is not asleep. Attempts has been made to bring the two parties on table but the state government propose that the bail out fund has been accessed and in due time our lecturers will be paid.

So my advice for every student is that we all face our studies because a week after the strike action is called off, we will all start our first semester examinations.

I know all expectations is that I say something since the past few weeks. Yes the good news on our administration so far is that we have been able to make effort with the management of the institution to stop the extortion by the okada riders.

The SUG in collaboration with the transport committee has taken out modalities to see the possibility of bringing kekenapep on campus thereby reducing cost of transportation to 20naira on campus.

The date of commencement is immediately after strike. The kekenapep riders will start full operation. Another thing students should be expecting is the fact that SUG is seriously making attempt to see how those with just one or two carry over can graduate successfully by waving those carryover.

The good news for those students who sits hopeless thinking one course can stop them from spilling is that the effort SUG is putting in will give them a new hope
as promised by comrade shaibu Philip omepa. Let's keep our fingers crossed as this new government is out to defend Ksu students interest. Thanks

comrade p. S omepa (SUG PRESIDENT KSU)

Kogi State University SUG Excos Meet Kogi State Government About Strike -

The ever conscious Students Union Government SUG 2016 in the quest to meditate on the issues that led to the strike met with Kogi State Government.

We could remember that the Unions Vice President Comr Edogbo Anthony in a speech last week asked students to debunk rumors and promised the students that the Union will do everything within its power to bring an end to the strike as soon as possible.

Ogiri Cosmos the Public Relations Officer of the students Union government reports that the SUG leaders met with the governor of Kogi State represented by the Chief of Staff, assured the student that

"Yahaya Bello's administration will not neglect the welfare of it's civil servants"

The economic situation of the country is not effecting only Kogi state in isolation to other Nigerian states.

Onoja, the Chief of Staff urged the lecturers to go back to class that "this month salary will be paid, bail out have been requested and it is our hope that before three to four weeks Kogi State will receive it own bail out from the Federal Government."

As such, ASUU are called upon to reconsider their position as Yahaya Bello's administration has never shy away from their welfare.

Philip Omepe Shaibu the student union government president in response has asked Students of Kogi State University to dust their books and get prepared to come back for their exams in few weeks time. "In less than three weeks we will be in class for our exams."

CAMPUS CELEBRITIES AWARD (CCA) : MISSION STATEMENT [Read Here]

CAMPUS CELEBRITIES AWARD (CCA) MISSION STATEMENT

Campus Celebrities Award (CCA) is an accolade, established in 2015 by DON'T PUSH ME ENTERTAINMENT to recognize outstanding achievement on Campus of which we started with Kogi State University Entertainment Industry. The annual ceremony features performances by established and promising artists. It was broadcasted online via Blogs, social media and other online outlets and hopefully our dream is for CCA to be Televised someday to television viewers across Nigeria and the world with your support.

The 2015 edition of The CCA was held at the Theatre Art Auditorium in KSU , Kogi State.
This year we plan to boost the standard of the Award by including NON-VOTING & VOTING categories. And also introducing nominees party. That involves taking all the nominees out of campus to spend 24 hours together in a venue provided by the organizers. Which includes, DON'T PUSH ME ENTERTAINMENT, SUG DOS1/2 and NAKOSS DOS1/2.

Events at the nominees party includes:
1. Arrival
2. Grouping
3. Nominees ultimate search
4. Represent your group
5. Photoshoot
6. How well do you know your selves
7. Variety Nite
8. Departure.

We believed that this will help the nominees get closer to one another. Which will eliminate all forms of enmity and pride. And also reduce inferiority complex amongst the Nominees.

We plan to upgrade the standards of the kind of Awards we use, So that even after 5 years you can still flaunt your Award with pride.

We want us to join hands together to tell the world that stars are also made in KSU. By broadcasting this Award in anyway we can.

We don't want anyone looking down on anybody, if you are nominated it means you deserve to win, so anyone who wins any of the categories means he/she is worth it. For being nominated means you are a star.

We can't achieve any of these without your financial, moral, spiritual and physical support anytime we call on you.

Nominee List would be out soon.
