Kogi State Joint Action Committee of Tertiary institutions has been urged to call off the ongoing strike on liberal grounds.

The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Youth Empowerment, Sport and Students Affairs Hon. MD Eseyin made the appeal in a chat with newsmen.

He said the committee should consider if nothing but almost all their demand painstakingly ascended to by the government and discontinue the industrial action

Eseyin added that the strike action will only worsen the harsh social and economic conditions of the students and attract them to social vices.

He noted that the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello stand in good stead to  resuscitate the educational sector and build a solid foundation that will stand the test of time.

“Just as no father will be happy to see his child at home so also the governor, despite the economic downturn, he has done unimaginable, obviously from his show of commitment  in spite of unending strike continues to honour subvention to all higher institutions in the state”

“At the just concluded Stakeholders meeting, the governor in his usual character, magnanimously defrayed all academic earn allowance and tax waivers to the turn of 290million” he added

Recall that the Kogi State Joint Action committee embarked on industrial action some months ago to press home their demands for improved workers’ welfare.
