HOW KSU USES QUOTA SYSTEM IN HER ADMISSION - Why people pass post utme and yet not admitted

BY: Integrity-Onoja Johnson
Many of u may not have heard
about this before but thank God am
hear to share with you tonight.
Quota system is a system of
admission
allocation to the
numbers of local government in a
state. Many Universities in Nigeria
are fond of this practice unknown
to the applicants.
The reason why Candidates may
make the required cut off point and
will still be denied admission or
have his or her course changed is because of the quota system.
Now how do they do this? Dont
worry, am gonna reveal it to you so
that you can sit up because  you are not the only applicant sitting for pume exam.
Each local govt is being allocated a specific number of applicants to be admitted each year and once the numbers of applicants from a particular local govt that pass the post utme exceed the required number, then they will take those ones with high points and then denied those ones with lesser points but above the cutoff admission or have their course changed.
But ONE THING am very sure about ksu is that once u pass your post utme and u are not affected by the quota system then ur admission is sure.
I never gave a dim to anybody before i was admitted because i score 62.86 which was one of the highest points for mass communication and likewise to many of my friends and course mates that i have asked.
Sit up. Try your  possible
best to pass your exam and leave the rest for God because admission list is beyond your control.
Say to your self that even if they are to take only two people out of the thousands of applicants, you are gonna be one of the two.
People that you are far better than are in School so you also can be in school.
Meet me at the top!
See you at your Matriculation and
Freshers night next year.

ADVICE TO ALL KSU POST UTME CANDIDATES FROM A CARING KSU STUDENT

Good luck to all the post UTME
candidates, wish you guys success in the computer based test.

NB: Make sure you take your JAMB
slip there with you.
Don't put on your best garments or
robes to the digital centre as there's a 90% probability of it
being spoiled.
KSU exams are not a fashion show
contest, it's termed as 'survival of
the fittest'
Leave your cell phones at home
and writing materials as you'll not be allowed into the centre with it.
The exam is a CBT but there's
nothing complex about it, so nothing to panic about.
you need not be a computer literate before you login or click the right answers. Be yourselves and get
on with it.
Of course the exam is about
30mins and 30questions. you need not panic, settle down and tick the right answers, nobody will beat you unless you act silly.lol
GOOD LUCK GUYS, IT'S BUT A
MERE EXAM.
ANYBODY WHO DOESN'T FINISH
SHOULDN'T
EXPECT TO PASS, SO FINISH YOU
MUST.
AISHA ABDULAHI cares.

KSU Goes Tough on Sales of Hand-outs, Sexual Harassment

The Management of Kogi State
University, Anyigba, has warned staff of the University, who

engage in sales of hand-outs, books, or indulge in other forms of extortions and sexual harassment to desist or face the wrath of the
law. In a strongly-worded memorandum signed by the Registrar, Mr. J.A. Zhizhi, the university noted that the warning had become necessary
in view of several allegations bordering on exploitative sales of unauthorized hand-outs,
journals and books before, during, and after registration of students.
Other activities frowned at include
deliberate delay of project assessment by supervisors in
order to extort gratification,
collection of unauthorized levies during defence of thesis and
dissertations.
While stressing that the reported cases were being investigated, the memo appealed to students or members of staff who may have been affected by these evil activities to promptly report to management via SMS using mobile number 08184537107.
The KSU news gathered that some
members of staff do compel students to buy hand-outs,
journals and textbooks on the
courses they teach.
Aside from money extorted from
students on the sale of the hand-outs, journals and text
books through exorbitant rates,
names of such students are written for purposes the staff may
deem fit. Endless delays of project
assessment in order to
exhort favours in cash and/or kind have become the order of the day, a practice that is being gradually perfected with reckless
abandon, sources said. “Some members of staff give assignments to students and make them
(students) to contribute several thousands of naira each.
The staff will then direct the unsuspecting students to the town to hire equipment and facilities owned by them to do the assignments. The staff’s private equipment and facilities are
poor and substandard, but are
hired by students at exorbitant costs, compared to the state of the art equipment and facilities owned
by the University, which are never
made available to students to use for assignments,” the sources lamented.
Some staff had been punished in
the past for indulging in such vices. The current move by
Management is therefore seen as a
renewed effort to stem the tide.

A boy (pictures below) was seriously beaten and paraded round kogi state university for allegedly disguising himself as a lady to gain access into female hostel in other to steal money and other valuable items. It has been recorded that over the years, this same issue has been going on and series of complaints have been coming in by the female students, so the security unit of the school decided to be vigilant and take
actions. Today seem to be for the
owner as one of the occupants of the girls hostel stated that a boy came in and as he tried to make away with one of the girl's laptops, he was caught and an alarm was raised which aroused the school security that prompted his arrest.

CAMPUS GIST - Meet the good samaritan. Briefing on how missing money was handedover

Yesterday morning, Mr Prince Ojonugwa who is a 300L student in Econs saw an envelope, he checked in and saw money inside and decides to hand over the money to the rightful owner.

The owner who is a fresher from a famous department of black & white (law) called him at 11am claiming ownership of the money. He said the money fell off from his file which he carelessly handed inside and that he got to know when he arrived his based but couldn't figure out where exactly he misplaced it. After series of question among eye witness which are Oluwale Jimoh faculty of management science, Gabriel Samuel, faculty of Natural sciences and Peter Akogwu from social sciences all which are  Mr Prince Ojonugwa close pals

Before then the claimer who wants his name anonymous said the money is made of #1,000.00 note of #100,000.00 and #500 notes of  #15,000.00  and the total money is #115,000.00 which is rightly so in the envelop according to  Mr Prince Ojonugwa. He was wise and not to be in trouble he decides to involve two SSS in anyigba because dis days 'na person wey do good dey fall in trouble'. Aside the rightful owner, other three guys called him about the same money claiming ownership and he  told them to meet him at the SSS office, they are yet to come as u are reading dis now. The SSS took proper documentation of the guy, pictures and vital details of him and also went further to beg him in case the money is not his and the consequences he might face if it is confirmed he isn't the owner.

So the guy took the money and forced a change in Prince hand. He been no wan collect, but just gas collect because that's the guys appreciation. Nice one Prince, u try sha. Continue that way and God go dey bless you more.
