10 Truths To Remeber When Things Go Wrong

This may only make complete sense if you are going through a rough patch. There's a lot of advice and comforting words in this piece which is why I decided to share it. Always remember, you are never alone in your struggle.

1. Have Humility
Generally, it is said that humility relates to the ability to be humble or having a clear perspective and respect for one’s place in context.
But what isn’t mentioned, is that humility comes from humiliation. The feeling of humiliation can be one of the hardest to cope with.
But with humility comes the understanding that things really aren’t as big as you make them out to be. You should never feel ashamed for anything. Love yourself, forgive yourself and accept that although you may have gone through hell and back, you are worthy. Don’t be so hard on yourself!
You are a beautiful human being, inside and out.

2. Life is an Adventure
Taking risks helps you grow and trying new things enhances your creativity. Success isn’t achieved without discomfort and by venturing this route you will challenge yourself.
Step out of your comfort zone. If it’s scary and exciting… DO IT!

3. Great Things Take Time
If you immediately manifested your every desire instantly by thought, then there would be no reason to incarnate. The soul grows the most during physical incarnation.
Instant gratification becomes stale and boring. We are here to experience the joy of anticipation, patience and commitment. All the while growing stronger in confidence.
Instant results are rarely the best results. With patience, you can greatly expand your potential. If your desires were always fulfilled immediately, you would have nothing to look forward to. You would miss out on the joys of anticipation and progress.
Value that comes in an instant is gone just as fast. Value that takes your time and commitment to create will outlive the creator himself.

4. Be Kind to Yourself
Accept that you are doing the best you can and it is good enough. We tend to be our worst critics and by accepting ourselves we release the need for others to accept us.

5. Change What You Can Change
You can’t change the experiences you’ve had, but you can change the way you feel about them. By changing your perspective, you can change how you relate to the experiences in your life.

6. Good and Bad is a matter of Perspective
Life is not black and white, no matter how hard you try to make it that way. Its more like 50 shades of grey. It may seem unfair in some instances, when things happen you wished you could change. But you will see in time, that everything happens for a reason, and nothing happens by chance.
The idea of what is good and bad, right and wrong are moral guidelines you identify with to ensure at the end of the day, you can lay down in your bed at night and say “I’m a good person”.
People aren’t good or bad, there are things we can do that are hurtful to others and ourselves, or things that we can do that are loving to others and ourselves. When we identify with good and bad, right and wrong we become attached to the idea and cage ourselves.
You are free.

7. Even the small struggles are a step forward
In the pursuit of happiness, patience does not mean waiting. Patience is continually working hard on your dreams and keeping a positive attitude.
Achieving your dreams isn’t easy, it can come with sacrifices in your relationships, a lot of time alone and dealing with others who just don’t understand.
It’s a test of your determination. Just how bad do you want it? If you want it bad enough you’ll do anything. You’ll discover that you are no longer walking the path, you are paving the way and it’s worth it.

8. Nothing Lasts Forever
When the darkness passes, the light emerges. When life seems to be gliding smoothly along, enjoy it. When your troubles come your way, embrace them. Every ending is a new beginning.

10. Pain Helps You Grow
As the old saying goes, what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. But before this strength can emerge, you must accept your pain.
Each time a tragic event occurs that you think you can’t handle, it is common to try to remove yourself from it altogether. But each time you do this, you leave a piece of yourself behind. When you disassociate yourself with your pain, you cause a split to occur within you. Commonly known as soul splitting. By embracing your pain and bringing it within to heal, you empower your own growth.
We grow most through difficult experiences, so embrace it. Let the darkness shape you, let it reform you, let it cradle you and birth you into a new life and a new way of being.

Another Article On Relationship - The One Who Got Away

Let's look at it from two points of view- You are either the one who got away or someone got away from you.

Do you ever find yourself pondering about the one who got away? Do you ever feel like you could have done more or said more to make them stay? You ever get tempted to call the person and apologize? Do you regret how you treated the person? Do you sometimes wish you could turn back the hands of time but you can never admit that to anyone else but yourself.
Or you run into them every now and then and have to restrain yourself from grovelling. Do you stalk them on social media just to keep up with their lives despite the fact that it seems they have moved on. You ever accidentally hit the like button on one of their pictures and you want to slap yourself 'cause now they are gonna know you've been stalking them......hehehehehe

Or are you the one who got away? Was the person treating you badly or you just felt you should move on to a 'better' person. Were you in love or you just felt sorry for the person and stayed until you couldn't take it anymore. Are you glad you left? Or do you regret leaving?

I've been the one who got away a couple of times and I think I only regretted my decision once but for a really short while 'cause we tried to hook up again and it was certain the dude was still an asshole. I haven't exactly had ''the one who got away'' unless we are counting toasters then I've probably had a few that I've pondered what it would have been like if we had hooked up. Oh wait! I had a dude I dated once, broke it off over the phone while I was out of the country. He was begging me not to end things but I had to abeg. I felt bad for a while and actually called him after three years to apologize.

So have you ever found yourself on either side of the coin or maybe even both? If you have, what would you say to the person if you could?

Dear Kogi Varsity Lecturers, Enough of the Political Strike on Our Future

I have been on the table of observation trying to decipher the major notion behind the ‘no pay, no work’ industrial action you all embarked upon in the middle of March, this year. I was privileged to be on the know of the bargains between the Academic Staff of Kogi State University, and the Yahaya Bello led Kogi government. This leads me to introduce myself as ‘a concerned student’ of the institution.

At the commencement of this strike, I got a copy of the memo distributed to lecturers, and the last paragraph caught my attention. It was purely a disclaimer distancing the action from political influence. A friend who read the memo with me, was about agreeing with the allegations of political motivation, but I quickly weakened his position with the fact that “lecturers are owed, it is their sweat, they must be paid”.

As the struggle began, I made sure I was never left out of credible information. Like you taught me, we need to be informed. I had every minute of the meetings between the school management and the government; ASUU and the government; and even the one between the Students Unions (SUG/NAKOSS) and Hon Edward Onoja, the Chief of Staff to the Governor. During these meetings, the governor promised to pay your backlog salaries, and even pleaded on behalf of the students, but you turned him down with the reason that “politicians cannot be trusted again”. I respected your response based on my experience from last ASUU six months nationwide strike, which I and others also suffered.

At some point, an obvious supporter of the govt took me aback to see reasons why he personally suspects a political undertone in several futile meetings you have had with the Governor, but I silenced him with the question, “are my lecturers not owed?” Any grapevine you give that bomb question would definitely kowtow to the fact that my lecturers need to be paid their salaries. Meanwhile, they are not the only ones owed backlogs.

Now to the reality, I’ve supported my lecturers to a point I have considered wholeheartedly to match my brake. This is the point they have really shown the true nature of the kangaroo industrial action I bought into. For God sake, how possible is it that respected academicians have stopped so low to be towed by the wind of politics to the detriment of the students, even their children. Now, I would have to reason with those who I silenced their positions.

Former Governor Idris Wada owed the bulk of this debt. This is no blame game, but an analysis. Of course I know Government is hereditary, so are debts. While piling up about four months debts, ASUU never saw reasons to issue a warning to the government of Wada. Yahaya Bello was inaugurated on January 27th, and just a month later, ASUU heralded her 21 days strike ultimatum. This is actually a fishy act, but I had turned a blind eye to it. Then what is the essence now.

Government has commenced payment of salaries, and I am so confident to say that, KSU lecturers got preferential treatment, than other civil servants could imagine. They were first to receive a full four months salary, as against five. Every Kogite knows that a buck of civil servants are still hoping to receive the 60% salary some of their colleagues have received.

To me and my fellow students, we were so hopeful that the over two months old strike was about to see an end, not until the news of the yet to be publicised continuity broke our hearts. Are we saying that the government has not tried to a considerable extent? One month salary hinged on “some other reason” is why those who graduated last year cannot go for service. That is why people like me will obviously not graduate this year again. That is still why prospective students of the institution will have their admission delayed relatively. What have we done to deserve this punishment? You were so fast to compare KSU with schools in Edo. Maybe you should count how many other Edos we have in this economy.

Dr Aina, the ASUU Chairman, is one who I know in Chapel of Restoration as one of the lecturers Evangelist Tokunbo Salami would vouch for, but with what I have on my analytical desk, stories must be left for the gods. My lecturers lived on loans from cooperatives before their payment. I understand that the loans have been withdrawn already from their salary, and left with not much to take them. Is that new??? Primary school teachers are passing through worse situations.

To this end, I am still yet to draw my conclusion on what kind of altar you are delaying our destiny. I do not care anymore when you will go back to the drawing board to take the point where you all got it wrong.

I am sure if this article is an assignment, you may score me low. But this is my personal appraisal, courtesy what you taught me in class.

– A Concerned Student.

10 Attitudes Ladies Display Online That Deny Them Husbands In Real Life

Whether you agree with me or not, social media is one of the places you can truly get to have a foresight of the kind of person you’re dealing with.

However, the attitudes displayed by most ladies online is a reflection of the kind of person they really are out there, so don’t let the mentally ill pukes blindfold you that some people don’t live their real lives online

Without wasting time, I shall discuss the attitudes displayed by ladies on social media that robs them of husbands in real life

1. Gold-digging Attitude

Some ladies are fond of putting up all sorts of gold digging status online just to showcase their class. To be very candid, no matter how rich a dude is, it’s very discouraging to see a lady putting up status that reeks of gold-digging.

This is a big turn off because such a dude will feel the lady is nothing but a money monger. This remind me when I saw a revelation that I should woo a lady on BBM, to my surprise she quickly put up the status “I’m allergic to broke dudes”. The man of God just shook his head and the rest is history

2. Being too Rude/Hostile

Many ladies are not accommodating and are usually very rude, pompous and narcissistic online. They talk rudely, dish out insults at any slight provocation and also treat both guys with good intentions and bad intentions like Dangote bag of cement. Out of ignorance, many of them don’t know that such an awkward attitude may deny them husbands.

3. Stereotyping Online Dudes as Players

A dude might stumble on a lady’s comment and finds it very thoughtful and brilliant and the dude decides to send a mail just to know more of her. The lady sees the mail and jumps into conclusion that all he wants is s*x. This myopic way of reasoning that every dude that sends friend request or mail only wants s*x has been immensely contributing to their lost of potential chairmen.

4. Being Too Impatient

Impatience often makes ladies send their future husbands away just because they couldn’t answer the question “where did you get my phone number or PIN?”. Last year, I added a lady on BBM and guess what? She was the first to PING me with the message “tell me where you got my PIN otherwise I will delete you right away”. Can you just imagine?

5. Incessantly Demanding for Recharge Card

This is a barbaric act that portrays a lady classless and shameless. A dude met a lady barely a week and she’s already demanding recharge card and data subscription to enable her chat with him. In fact, the one that annoys me most is seeing status update such as “”my data bundle is about to finish, who cares to renew it?” Many ladies don’t see anything bad in this act unknown to them that it depletes their chances of finding husband

6. Displaying Slut-ish Attitude

Before a dude decides to add a lady on social media, the first he will do is check her pictures to have a foresight of the kind of person he wants to add, and by the time he sees all sorts of boobs and buttocks revealing pictures, he concludes she’s irresponsible and nothing but a chop and clean mouth material.

7. Changing Relationship Status like Disco Light

Another thing that discourages potential chairmen from wooing a lady is frequent changing of relationship status.

If a lady often changes her relationship status from single to engaged, engaged to married and vice versa, this will put potential the chairmen into a state of confusion, therefore, some of them will lose interest in that process and they will feel she’s chameleon-like in nature

8. Displaying a Degree of Dumbness

Just as my friend always say, If they want to date a lady, they will like to have her facebook ID and check the content of what she posts online and by the time they see updates that reeks of dumbness and illiteracy, they will just jejely wear their boxers and withdraw themselves.

9. Making Unrealistic Qualities in a Man

Honestly speaking, some ladies usually found on social media looking for 1,000 qualities in just a man. He must be rich, handsome, light skinned, funny, brilliant, six packed; must have elaborate joystick and should be God fearing.

Haba !!! All these qualities in just a man? Even Jesus Christ does cannot have all these qualities.

10. Uploading Pictures of Various Dude as each day passes

No be say these guys dey go birthday or something. They are always putting up their pictures and start heaping praises on them for financially help. This act is a big turn off for dudes cos I will feel she’s promiscuous in nature

8 Signs You Should Make Your Girlfriend Your Wife Immediately (A Must See)

Everyone keeps asking when you are going to get married (It’s getting a little out of control). And maybe the people have spoken and the people are right. But getting married is actually a pretty big deal. I mean, we’re talking about a lifetime committment here.

Hopefully this list can help you see signs you should take her to the altar immediately.

1. You’re incredibly happy to see her

If seeing your lady fills your heart with everlasting joy, you need to make sure you get to see her every single day (aka marry her).

2. She doesn’t take herself too seriously

If she can laugh at herself, she’s probably the kind of person who can shrug off mistakes and move on, which is a pretty great trait to have in a future spouse.

3. You want to be her kids’ dad

If you want to father her children, you should probably marry her. Also, if she’s the kind of woman you want to mother your children, that’s a great sign as well.

4. She cooks amazing pancakes

If your lady has some kind of special talent like pancake art, don’t think you’re going to find someone as awesome somewhere else. You’re lucky to be with her and all her special traits.

5. She’s smart

If your girl has a quick wit that takes her places but keeps you on your toes, she’s a keeper.

6. You love her when she’s crazy

You don’t have to be super attracted to her when she’s being a terror. But if you still love her when everything terrible is happening, you need to marry her.

7. She loves you too

If she loves you as well, this is the lady you are looking for.

8. You can’t imagine life without her

If you go dead trying to imagine a future without her in it, just wife her already.

Add Yours.

Dangers of Air Pollution; The Earth Needs Help by Jato Ladi

The climate is changing; rain forests are disappearing; our farmlands are becoming infertile; glaciers and polar ice caps are melting and sea levels are risen; rainfall is becoming unpredictable by the day; drought and flooding are common, fresh water is becoming insufficient; wild plants and animals are becoming extinct; the sun is harsh on us; the roads are melting! and Yes! The air is polluted!

Environmental pollution is increasing at an alarming rate. The harmful substances introduced into the air by the activities of mankind, resulting in imbalance in air quality is causing adverse effects and health challenges on living organisms existing on earth.

These pollutants also impact on the earth’s climate, causing global warming. Some of the air pollutants which cause global warming include green house gasses (GHG); one of these is carbon dioxide coming from car and truck exhausts and methane, which comes from gas emitted by livestock, GHG cause global warming by trapping heat from the sun in the earth’s atmosphere. They are supposed to be a natural part of the earth’s atmosphere, but it has increased beyond what the earth can cope with due to the activities of man, causing serious changes in the climate.

Several Nigerian rural settlements that had in the past enjoyed clean, healthy air are now experiencing severe air pollution from several air contaminants, owing to industrialization and geometric increase in population. Some of these pollutants come from the burning of fossil fuel, wood, coal, and exhaust from cars; agricultural activities like biocides, such as pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, burning of waste, etc. additionally, the endless use of generators due to epileptic power supply, also cause air pollution.

These pollutants not only have adverse effects on our health and that of wildlife species and animals, but also affect the climate. A recent study showed that the most polluted city in the world is in Nigeria – Onitsha. Such a discovery gives cause for concern because, the medical implications of this claim is numerous, as it causes deaths, damage to lungs through organic dust particles resulting in asthma, bronchial cancer, reduces oxygen carrying capacity of the blood; inflames upper respiratory passages; induce coughing, damage red-blood cells and kidneys, and also causes jaundice.

A recent study by the World Health Organization (WHO) has revealed that 98,000 Nigerian women die annually from smoke inhaled from cooking with firewood. Some of these pollutants affect the fertility of the soil, and also leads to deaths of the animal. In fact, the study goes on to say that “if a woman cooks breakfast, lunch and dinner with firewood, it is the equivalent to smoking between 3 and 20 packets of cigarettes a day.”

Another study by the Harvard scientists which is of serious concern to the developed world, is that honey bees are dying at a scary rate, the implication of this development is that food supply will shrink because, one-third of the food we consume get pollinated by these bees. In fact, due to the importance of these bees, the scientists are already making a robotic honey bee to pollinate some of these foods, nuts and fruits. The major question is if the robotic bee can help in pollination, what about the medicinal value of the honey the bees provide? What are the future side effects of using the robotic bees for pollination?

The Robotic Bee…*

It has become increasingly evident that air pollution is affecting vegetation, as much as it is affecting human and animal lives. Therefore, the fight against pollution has become necessary and urgent, and the time is now!

Cutting down on those activities which result in air pollution is an important step we must all take to live healthy, and also hand over a habitable environment to future generations. We don’t need to wait for the government to come with policies before we can cut down on activities that affect the environment and our health.

Some of these lifestyle changes are key:

1. Conserve energy at home, at work and everywhere; we don’t need to leave the lights on (even if they are energy conserving bulbs) during the day.

2. We must be sure that our tyres are properly inflated

3. Use environmentally safe paints and cleaning agents whenever necessary

4. Refuel your car in the evening, when the weather is cooler

5. Reduce or eliminate fire place and wood stove

6. Avoid bush burning

7. It is essential to cut down on the amount of packaged goods we purchase and the amount of household waste we produce. The process of manufacturing packaging releases harmful emissions into the atmosphere, and its transportation to the dumpsite also release harmful emissions.

8. Reduce the amount of time we spend in the car; whenever we can, we can do short distances on foot or ride a bike to errands.

9. Plant as many trees as you can for every one fell, carbon dioxide that pollute and depletes the ozone layer is food for the trees.

Let us join the clean air campaign to restore back the clean dry air of our cities
